💡 The AI & Data Science Team

Our team defines and executes the algorithmic strategy for Research & Innovation (R&I), driving our digital transformation. We collaborate with local teams, providing tools, methods, and tackling research topics across all strategic algorithmic areas for L'Oréal R&I. From Deep Learning to LLMs, and from Bayesian statistics to Design of Experiments, we oversee the development, industrialization, and operation of algorithms.

🎯 Your Contribution

By joining the AI&DS team, you'll contribute to projects ranging from exploration to product-oriented initiatives, with a special focus on building generative AI pipelines for chemistry (knowledge recovery, formulation, etc.).

Your Responsibilities:

• Understand and translate end-user needs into algorithmic constraints and specifications.
• Develop new methods, adapting from existing literature or creating them specifically for the task.
• Analyze and scientifically validate the results obtained.
• Act as a technical expert during technology transfer to user-facing products, ensuring successful integration.
• Participate in L'Oréal Research worldwide activities for innovative methods and applications.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists worldwide to develop statistical analysis processes, plans, and determine appropriate statistical methodologies.
• Take ownership of data science topics, independently applying and implementing statistical techniques to translate data into information and support result interpretation.
• Conduct technological monitoring of evaluation and predictive formulation methods.
• Handle data to support algorithm development (needs specifications, preparation, preprocessing, etc.).
• Define evaluation protocols, analyze method performance, and quantify impact on end-users.
• Ensure intellectual property protection and contribute to scientific influence (patents, publications).
• Document and present work to team members and management.
• Contribute to decision-making by clearly interpreting statistical results for project leaders.
• Promote data visualization and analytics by leading a community of data analyst citizens.
• Maintain and build external networks, introducing relevant technologies to accelerate innovation.

Functional and Technical Skills:

• Mandatory:
  • Programming: Python, R, LangChain, Scikit-Learn, Keras, PyTorch, Tensor Flow, Numpy, Pandas, Docker, Git.
  • Statistics: Mixed models, Bayesian analysis, computational statistics, numeric analysis.
  • Machine Learning/Deep Learning: Transformers, Diffusion models, ViT, GANs.
• Nice to Have:
  • Design of experiment.

Personal & Interpersonal Skills:
